With the permission of Patrick, please see some photo's of Trawden that we haven't got on our other page. I hope that you will find them interesting.
It is with great sadness that I report that Patrick sadly passed away on Saturday 9th March 2024. He has brought an immense amount of joy to all those who were touched by the photographs that he has taken and we have been permitted to share. Eternal thanks Patrick, rest easy.
The Parish Council were extremely fortunate in securing some of the Climate Emergency Funding from Pendle Borough Council for tree planting at Ball Grove Park, in March 2022.
The Council looked at various options of trees to purchase, and with help from the tree officer at Pendle Borough Council, we purchased 12 silver birch trees in order to create a lasting tribute to the Queen's Jubilee.
This line of trees is called 'The Queens Platinum Jubilee Avenue', and they were planted on Saturday 2nd April.
There was an immense amount of volutary help to get this project completed. Without the help of everyone who attended on the day, there is just no possibility that this would have been done.
We do hope that you feel that it is a fitting tribute and feel that it enhances the whole park.
The vast majority of these photographs were taken by Jack Tranter - an up and coming, exceptionally talented young photographer. The link to Jack's own page is www.jacktranter.uk
These photographs were sent to the Parish Council by Cynthia's son, Tim who used to live at a property on Colne Road until the early 1970's.
These photographs are a continuation of photographs sent to the Parish Council by Tim.
